Project Description: To develop an ultrasonic based escalator that can cut power consumption and save money in stores, shopping malls, airports, transit systems (railway/railway stations), convention centres, hotels, arenas, stadiums and public buildings . The U escalator is very upbeat, ultimate and in the end, it benefits you. In 2020, The internet showed US and India alone spent 5.4 trillion rupees on electricity and if this continues, resources in 20 years’ time will be scarce and 33% of this number is by escalators. In my project the ultrasonic sensor senses people in a short range and automatically switches the escalator on and when done it stops. Instead of the escalator continuously running, the ultrasonic sensor uses the power of its sensing ability to automate the escalator when needed.
